The Bailey House Museum was built at the
mouth of Iao Valley as part of the royal compound of Kahekili, the
last chief of Maui. Over the years, the house has had many uses. In
the mid 20th century, the Maui Historical Society took over and used
the house as a place to show all the wonderful Hawaiian treasures,
including Missionary Era Artifacts and natural wonders that have been
found on the Hawaiian islands over the years.
If you're on Maui and you're looking for a place to learn a little
more about Hawaii and see some of its prized artifacts and treasures,
the Bailey House Museum is a "must see" destination. Located at 2375-A
Main Street Wailuku, Hawaii, you can call ahead at 808-244-3326 for
more information. Be prepared to want to spend several hours looking
over all the things to see and learning a little more about Hawaii and
its past. The gift shop will let you take a little piece home with you
as a memory.
