Makena Landing Beach Park is a very
popular destination for people who travel to Maui, Hawaii. This
secluded park is a great place to enjoy a lot of activities. The
coral in the area died off after a bad storm in 1999, but there's
still plenty to do along the rocky beach and in the general area.
Well, as long as you don't want to swim or go scuba diving. There
are no facilities at this park and no lifeguards on duty. Also,
because of the cloudy water and lack of coral, it's not a good
place for snorkeling.
The Makena Landing Beach Park is actually just one |
of four beaches in the area found along
Makena road. Some people will find this one likable, though. Its rocky
outcroppings and rock filled beach can do a lot to elicit a certain
mood, even in a paradise like Maui. If you think you've seen it all on
Maui, you need to check out this beach, if nothing else then to see
how just a little change in nature can really affect an area
naturally.
There are a lot of homes in the area that rent themselves out as
vacation properties. If you find yourself on this side of Maui, you're
going to want to at least stop by Makena Landing Beach Park even if
it's just a stop on your way to another beach in the area. Seeing it
can really open your eyes to a lot of things.
