Kapiolani Park

Kapiolani Park The Kapiolani Park may have a strange name to some, but that doesn't take away from the beauty and wonderful things you can do there. Home to the Honolulu Cricket Club, the park is a favorite spot for both Hawaiian locals and visitors from all over the world. And over the years, many people have come through here. Created in 1876, it is the oldest (and largest) park in Hawaii. At 300-acres, the park is home to a lot of great attractions, including the Waikiki Shell and the Honolulu Zoo. Even if you don't stop at one of those two places, there's still a lot to see and do.
From tennis to archery to soccer, if you're into sports, there is a lot at Kapiolani Park that is going to interest you. One of the great things about the park is that it's free. That was one of the stipulations when the land was made into a park. People wanted it to be free and open to the public and that's still happening today. There are things that cost at the park, but general admission won't cost you anything. With so much to do at the park, it's really a great value.

If you're in Honolulu and are looking for a relaxing afternoon away from the hustle and bustle of the city for a while but you don't want to travel far, Kapiolani Park is a great place to stop and explore for a while. If you're into water activities, nearby Kapiolani Beach Park may be more to your liking. Whatever your interests, this public park is sure to give you loads to do.
