The Waikiki Aquarium is quite a sight
to behold - whether or not you enjoy the aquatic life. If you are
in Honolulu, this can be a great way to spend the day with friends
and family while staying cool and observing (close-up) the wonders
and beauty of the ocean. If you've always wanted to see the
infamous Zebra Shark or have a soft spot for the dolphins, this is
a great, inexpensive way to see the rich wildlife that the ocean
around Hawaii supports.
The cost is only $9 for adults, $4 for youths (13 to 17) and $2
for juniors (5 to 12.) If you happen to be |
a local resident, you can get in for $6. Even if you are just a
visitor to Hawaii, though, $9 is not a lot of money when you consider
everything you are going to see at the Waikiki Aquarium. With over
3,000 marine animals available to see, there is sure to be something
for everyone.
This may not be the most exciting thing you'll see if you're on Oahu,
but if you're ready for something a little more laid back, a trip to
the Waikiki Aquarium may be just what you need. Every year, over
300,000 people visit the aquarium. Opened in March 1904, it is one of
the three oldest aquariums in the United States - almost a reason to
visit by itself. There are so many other things to see and do here,
though, that there's really no reason not to stop by if you're in the
area.
